Lynn and Yataga are mark bearers, meaning they are part of a minority who can do magic. Lynn's other half, Yataga, is targeted by a serial killer who collects birthmark like runes off of people's bodies. Desperate, Lynn reveals his status as a necromancer and brings Yataga back only to find a demon has come with and the ritual didn't quite work as planned. Yataga is now undead. That and Yataga is consumed with wanting to get back at his killer. Trying to function as two opposites, the two, as well as Yataga's twin brother, Higanba, get involved with the killer and his origin as more of their world unravels. All they have is each other.
